Christmas cheer

And a big thank-you to all the Abingdon Writers who contributed to our tree for the All Saints Christmas Tree festival. Once again our tree was a major attraction as it had the only 'readable' decorations, and people stopped to read everything from flash fiction to poems hanging from stars on its branches.

The whole event was a huge success and made £600 for Oxford Homeless Pathways, so you've all done your charitable bit for Christmas!

Authors Self Published Books and  E-book Success...

Found this article, US Today Self-published authors find e-success and thought it may be food for thought, and especially for Mary with her E-book ‘Max MacCauley: All He Ever Wanted Was A Quiet Life’ and Marissa with 'Goa Traffic'. It’s really good to see authors doing well with their self-publishing endeavours. Hopefully in a few months’ time, we will see Mary and Marissa names on an English new web-site as e-book best sellers!

Undiscovered Voices 2012 - A huge Congratulations to JO!

Undiscovered Voices 2012 have today announced the 13 lucky writers who will have their extracts published in the anthology. As some of you may know the children's writers of Abingdon Writers all entered the competition, and two of us were long-listed (Me and Jo).  However today the winners were announced and Jo Wyton is on the list! So please join me in wishing a huge Abingdon Writers congratulations to Jo...

Congratulations  Jo!

Of course I think would like to congratulate the other 12 winners on behalf of us at Abingdon writers. Also a commiserations to the rest of the long-lister's who like me, were destined to be honorary mentions.
